Earlier this year, a Good Samaritan found a stray cat sitting alone on a park bench. It was one of many abandoned cats found on the streets of Kuwait. It had been wandering the neighbourhood in the hope that someone would stop and look after it.

The cat was friendly and wanted to have its head scratched. It had probably been attacked by another cat. The finders immediately called the community for help.

Alina Lazarieva from Kuwait Animal Aid answered the call and her team of volunteers sprang into action.

‘The first volunteer went to the park to look for them but couldn’t find them. He gave his phone number to the park guard and asked him to call if the cat reappeared.

On the day the cat was taken into custody, it came to the park again, hoping it was its lucky day. Volunteers then rushed to the park when they learnt that the cat had returned. After much effort, the tiger cat was finally officially released from the streets.
