Sure, I love all cats, but there’s something charming about gray cats. While there are several breeds of purebred cats known for their gray coats, there are also plenty of shelter cats looking for forever homes with dazzling gray coats (which I think is further proof that shelter cats are the prettiest cats around!) .
Luckily, there are lots of good people out there looking for them to get their happy ending. Kristen and her cat-loving boyfriend have a soft spot for cats in need. On a whim, they came across the most beautiful gray cat who was looking for a forever home. As they say, the rest is history!
At , we introduce you to Jimmy Catopola!
How did Jimmy come into your lives?
We went to the shelter to pick up our calendar. A few years ago, we lost a gray kitten to illness, so when we saw Jimmy (then named Granite), we were immediately intrigued. My friend Greg was holding him, and when the owner of the shelter saw him he said, “I’m going to spay or neuter him now so you can take him home!” So we decided to have him spayed. She knew us and knew how much Greg wanted another gray cat. So she operated on him in less than an hour and sent him home with us.
Where did Jimmy Catopolo get his name? (I know, of course, because I’m an NFL fan, but for those of you who aren’t).
Jimmy was named after his father’s favorite football player, Jimmy Garoppolo of the San Francisco 49ers.
What’s his personality like?
Jimmy is a weirdo. We call him a “monster” because his behavior is unlike any animal we’ve ever encountered. He’s goofy, neurotic, sweet, and sometimes aloof.
Does he have any other feline or canine roommates?
Jimmy has two older feline siblings. Sister Samantha @msmantha08, who is 13 years old, and brother Louie @little_louie18, who is 3 years old and much younger than his sister.
What are his favorite hobbies?
Jimmy loves playing fetch and watching hummingbirds. He also likes to chew on bubble wrap and plastic mailing envelopes.
What is one special thing you would like people to know about Jimmy Catopola?
Jimmy is huge! He is only two years old and weighs 21 kilograms!
